Becoming a Christian
At the age of twenty-one, he was singing in the choir of the
Congregational Church in Springfield when God spoke to
his heart. . . . he knelt by his bed, asking forgiveness, and
receiving the blessed assurance of Christ’s presence. He
wrote in his memoirs, “The next few days were some of
the happiest of my life.”
Albert Starr Spaulding and Nellie Lock Burrows
Albert Starr married Nellie Locke Burrows on January 2,
1890, in Canton, Missouri; both of them were twenty-four
years of age. They went to St. Augustine, Florida, for their
honeymoon. He took his bride to Kearney, Nebraska, and
soon moved to Rogers, Nebraska, organizing banks . . .
